In January 2011, a group of women gathered in founder Cyndi Ball’s farmhouse in Statham, Georgia. Drawn together by their shared passion for homesteading, they swapped stories, shared tips, and built connections. What started as a simple gathering quickly grew into something much bigger—a movement rooted in knowledge, community, and friendship. In 2013, the National Ladies Homestead Gathering (NLHG) was officially established as a nonprofit organization. Our mission? To empower women through homesteading.

Homesteading is a unique and deeply rewarding journey, but let’s face it—it can sometimes feel isolating. That’s where NLHG comes in. We’re here to help bridge the gap between independence and community. Together, we share knowledge, support each other, and accomplish more than we ever could alone.

At NLHG, knowledge is at the heart of everything we do. Whether you’re canning your first batch of pickles, raising backyard chickens, or starting a garden, there’s always something new to learn. And we believe every woman has something valuable to share. But NLHG isn’t just about gaining homesteading skills. It’s about building a community where women can grow, support, and inspire one another.

Ready to join the movement? Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Local Chapters: Imagine a room full of women who “get it”—they share your goals, your challenges, your dreams. That’s what local Chapters offer. Meet in person each month to learn, share, and build lasting friendships. No Chapter near you? We’ll help you start one!
  • Online Community: Too far from a Chapter? No problem. Our online forums let you connect, ask questions, and share experiences with women across the country—all from the comfort of your home.
  • Newsletters: Stay in the loop! Our national and local newsletters bring you updates, learning opportunities, and ways to connect.

Whether you’re planting your very first seeds or running a thriving homestead, there’s a spot for you at NLHG. Join us today, and let’s build something extraordinary—together.
